■The first Japan Geopark Committee was held on May 28, 2008.

This comittiee has administration role, approving the area of Japan Geopark Network as well as selecting the candidates for Global Geopark Network. Committee is composed of 11 members, who have experience or specialist knowledge from university, academy and relative association.
